Cumberland County GOP support Democrats
It’s time for Republicans to swallow this pill: the current PA GOP – and the Cumberland County GOP – doesn’t like conservatives.
Cumberland County Republican Committee (CCRC) Chairman Lou Capozzi recently appointed a Democrat-supporting activist, Michael Verber, as a Committee Person (CP).
An average CP – by CCRC standards – mans the polls on election day. But, Verber’s not your average CP.
A proud Kamala Harris supporter, Verber founded CV CURes to maintain the “status quo” at Cumberland Valley School District, in 2023. He gave $10,000 to then incumbent-CVSD school board candidates like Michelle Nestor and Jessica Silcox. Thankfully, the community rejected the “status quo,” and elected conservative Republican Kelly Potteiger, one of Capozzi’s targeted, suspended indefinitely CPs, charged with an arbitrary bylaw violation. He much prefers Verber, who – get this – told Pennlive, in 2023, that he’s trying to strike a blow for the future viability of the Republican Party.
With alliances, like Capozzi, who fundraised for former Sen. Bob Casey, he will succeed. Verber’s other alliance is “status quo” incumbent Nestor. On paper, she’s a glowing Republican – a state GOP committee member, a CP and a board member of the Cumberland County Council of Republican Women (CCCRW).
But, Nestor seemingly approves of Mike O’Brien, a Democrat candidate for CVSD school board – and notably a former challenger to U.S. Rep. Scott Perry. Nestor allowed an ad to run in the recent Lincoln Day Dinner program, where she and her CCCRW were “thanked” by O’Brien for their combined support. Nestor aligns with Verber’s CV CURes – which backs O’Brien; Marty Carreras, now a defendant in the CVSD discrimination lawsuit; and Brian Allen, another past Perry challenger in 2022.
So, pay attention to your GOP’s paraded candidates and alliances. Today’s headlines are CVSD’s budget crisis and lawsuits; what will tomorrow’s headlines be? Is Scott Perry their ultimate target?

Thank you for pulling back the curtain Caroline. Many in the county are unaware of how deep this runs. Anyone who listens to Michelle for 5 minutes becomes acutely aware that what she lacks in intelligence and logic she makes up for with her volume, stupidity, and hatred of conservatism.

Michelle Nestor is a disgrace. A self-absorbed narcissist RINO only interested in political power, her appearance, and photo ops to post on social media! A Verber-suck-up with questionable morals!

Brian Allen refuses to say that men need to stay out of girl’s locker rooms and sports. Verber had to search high and low to find his unmerry band of hot dog party loving activists. What a shameless group.

Is Verber going to have another crying moment at next board meeting feeling sorry for himself and Nestor. Save us exhaustion of witnessing such pathetic drama. I remember seeing five board members (including Rausch, Ford, Shaffner, Gossert) join Nestor with their fake tears and sniffling crying performance during that disgusting Pancholy assembly last year! Just stop!

Where did Verber find this Allen guy? He is so weird and creepy. A collection of left wing failures and misfits. Any registered republican working with them is a democrat. Period. Remove them all from positions in the party.

If Mr Verber wants nothing but democrats and extremely liberal republicans who are actually democrats, why doesn’t he just become a democrat committee person? Every republican siding with Mr Verber’s charade should be removed from leadership positions, starting with Mrs Nestor.

Isn’t Gossert that RINO that tried to steal McCormick Farm? I think it was. I remember watching him screaming at residents, students…doesn’t seem like a man with a backbone.

Mr Shaffner is another one that needs removal. He is backing that lazy democrat failure, O’Brien and the man known as his bookkeeper, Carreras. Time to clean house of these rats.
